Rounds 9 & 10 - Wiscombe Park, 19th & 20th May
Saturday 19th May and faced with a true dilemma. Should I watch the royal wedding, wait in for the cup final or go racing? I am sure you can guess which won!
Joined by two other combatants in AHD and Rob pack we ventured down to Wiscombe for a weekend of competition with 50 points up for grabs. We were blessed with glorious weather. Strangely our numbers, (myself 78, Rob 79 and AHD 80), did not reflect the running order – in fact it was the complete reverse. The whole weekend’s competition turned out to be very close indeed. 1st practice left AHD in first place, me second and Rob third. |
An intense race followed with AHD continuing to set the pace. Luckily on the 2nd run I managed to find enough in the tank to pull off a very narrow win, with AHD second and Rob third, but all very close.
Sunday the glorious weather continued and it would prove to be an even more interesting day of competition.
AHD again set the pace in practice with Rob, having given up the pies, beginning to show his potential in second place.
Luckily for AHD he didn’t have to go hungry as he did manage to stop his runaway car before it flattened his sandwiches.
