Round 12 - Abingdon, Saturday 9th June

​Abingdon CARnival is two sprints in one: The Abingdon course around the perimeter road of the airfield in the morning providing long sweeping corners and high speeds, and the Bentley course in the afternoon which is blast down the runway interrupted by a couple of severe chicanes.  Here’s one competitor’s take of it:

​Well she got her TVR
And she cruised past the hambuger stand now
Seems she formed up at the starting line
Like she’s raring to go now
And with the exhaust pipes blasting
Goes sprinting just as fast as she can now
 
And she’ll have fun fun fun
‘Til her hubby puts the T-Cut away

Well the fans all love her
‘Cause on Abingdon she drives like an ace now

She makes the Griffith 500 look like a meagre second place now

A lot of guys try to catch her
But she squeals round the wide open space now

Well she knew all along
That the Bentley was gonna be tough now

And since the braking was the key
She’s been thinking she should do it real late now

But the Bentley cones caught her
As she knocked them all over the place now
(Physics can’t be defied now it can’t be defied)
